The yellow brick road was said to represent the gold standard back in the 1890′s. The witch represented the banks and railroad industries that ran small farmers out of business. Scarecrow was compared to farmers of the populist party who just barely made it out of debt because of silver coineage. The tinman represents factory workers of the industrial north. Also the munchkins were suppose to be common people and the emerald city was Washington. Last but not least the wizard was representing the current president.

Assignment “#5″

Walt Disney is the most modern day renaissance man known. He has changed the world by his different cartoons and characters, and also his different attractions and ways of bringing things to life. Walt made Disney approximately 35 billion dollars of motion picture. In his life he has had alot of different titles. A film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. All of these things make him the perfect renaissance man because of all his accomplishments in life.

Ghost in English Renaissance

Ghost during Shakespear’s life were considered spirits that had come back to finish something that they did not finish during their life. Many people hung horseshoes above their doors as a way to ward away the evil spirits that lurked. The church said that ghost were devils in disguise.

Today, ghosts are considered many things. Angels, the Devil, or just a spirit. People are interested in ghost because its something we aren’t really sure is real and everyone wants to be that one person that discovers one. My family does not have any superstitions concerning ghosts. Their are many different places over the world considered haunted. Waverly Hills State Penatentary is known to be one of the most haunted places ever.

Rennie Curran is my hero because he is a great football player, and his story about him surviving Liberia is amazing. In this video it tells about his life story and how he became who he is today.

The video had many heroes.  The main hero was Shrek, and also donkey, puss in boots, and fiona.  All of these characters saved somebody or stopped something bad from happening which makes them a hero. The heroes from shrek are like beowulf because all they want in return is glory and respect not wealth.

I think that blogging will be fun this year.  I enjoy writing about my life and things that make me happy. I just hope to be able to express my ideas and have a great time in the process.  Blogging is a different way to teach kids to use their imagination, and i think its going to teach me many things about writing.
